Blood pressure was 156/93 today!!! WTF
I’m 21 weeks today with my first. My blood pressure has ALWAYS been good! I’ve never ever had a reading over 130/90. Ever, not even before pregnancy! I’ve never had a reading over 125 or so at any of my OB appts so far, even YESTERDAY at 11am it was 128/79.
Fast forward to today, I woke up with a headache. Not unusual though, I mean our bed is horrible and I can’t get comfy to save my life anyways. Well, I had an appointment this morning for a physical, drug screen and paperwork to start my new job with Bon Secours (hospital pharmacy, so you can infer that this was a professional occupational health nurse taking my vitals in a hospital setting...I’m very obviously pregnant too so he was extremely concerned and even took it 3 times to make sure, he wanted me to go downstairs and get seen lol)
But anyways, my resting heart rate was hovering around 120 and my BP was 156/93!!!!! I feel like crap too! Like wtf? Where did this come from!? Literally I was fine yesterday I just saw my OB YESTERDAY and I am absolutely petrified something is wrong. I called my OB and left a message on the triage nurse line and when they finally called back, the stupid girl told me I was fine and not to worry.
I’m sorry, I can’t not worry. I’ve NEVER had HBP, I’m considerably healthy and this pregnancy has been a breeze so far...I eat low sodium, low carb and low sugar anyways and I haven’t eaten anything out of the ordinary or done anything strenuous or stressful at ALL.
Telling me not to worry when this is not normal for me only pisses me off and makes me worry WORSE!
Am I crazy for being upset and concerned or should we continue to sit here and play with our dicks, just hoping I don’t bust a vein over here or should I do something?
My biggest fear is developing some kind of serious health issue like pre e and ending up on bed rest.. much less ending up really I’ll and putting my baby at risk.
I appreciate y’alls advice! You guys on this app are awesome and helpful in many ways. Bless you!!! Lol❤️
