Multiple miscarriages - what do I ask the drs to check?

I’m currently going through my second miscarriage at 5 weeks after a previous one at 6 weeks- I know a lot of the time it’s just something that happens and you don’t find out why, but can anyone tell me tests I should ask for to see if anything is wrong and perhaps prevent a 3rd time around? I have heard to get progesterone checked... anything else??

I had three miscarriages and went through genetic testing. I don’t believe insurance covers it unless you’ve had three losses but definitely ask & if it’s possible pay for it. I found I’m MTHFR positive which is associated with recurrent pregnancy loss. (All my losses had zero development) 
Put on supplements & baby aspirin & I’m 14 weeks now with my rainbow 🌈 good luck

I had a MC in march, after running few tests they couldnt find a reason behind but I still wanted to find out as I felt guilty that might be my fault. Long story short I went back home and run few tests and found out I have thrombophilia. This disorter causes blood clots and stops the oxygen getting to your bany. I would never imagine thats the reason behind my MC but I am so happy I found out now before the second MC and in order to maintain a pregnancy I will have to take daily pills. Below are few information that might help. I am not saying thats the reason of your MC but its worth testing.
Tests for thrombophilia include complete blood count (with examination of the blood film), prothrombin time, partial thromboplastin time, thrombodynamics test, thrombin time and reptilase time, lupus anticoagulant, anti-cardiolipin antibody, anti-β2 glycoprotein 1 antibody, activated protein C resistance, fibrinogen ...

My OB wouldn’t order more invasive tests until after my 3rd loss. They did a full panel to check for hormone levels, lupus, chromosome abnormalities & other diseases/infections. They didn’t find anything. I did my own research regarding early losses & advocated for myself - & ended up getting progesterone for this pregnancy. Started it when I got the positive, & will take it until 12 weeks when the placenta takes over hormone production. The idea is that maybe I wasn’t able to produce enough progesterone. Still praying this one makes it all the way. Wishing you the best.

I had two miscarriages in a row. I had EVERYTHING tested, but nothing came up as an issue. I’m taking aspirin as a precaution and will have my levels monitored a lot more frequently just to make sure nothing is off.

one ectopic and 2 MCs here. I was checked for Thyroid, Diabetes, blood clotting disorder and "genetic factors".  Turns out I do have a genetic mutation called MTHFR where I don't process folic acid...uhh...hello, I was taking TONS of it! Now I am taking a prescription med that has an active form of folate that my body can process. I've learned of 3 other women I know personally who have had it and gone on to have healthy safe pregnancies immediately after. It is estimated to affect 30-50% of the general population. Make sure your doc tests for it too!

I would definitely have them check your progesterone levels. I had 2 miscarriages and now 14 weeks along almost thanks to taking progesterone this time around

After my second miscarriage in March my dr and I sat down and I asked her what kind of tests we could do to see if there was a reason this was happening. She sent in blood tests for everything! My testosterone levels, my egg quality, etc. really having an open dialogue with your dr will allow them to decide your best action plan.

I miscarried my twins at 7 weeks and a single one at 6 weeks... now 31 weeks pregnant with my baby girl ❤️
This time round they just did some blood tests checking if mine and my husbands are compatible, and put me on progesterone the week of ovulation ( if I did get pregnant to continue it until 16 weeks) if I didn’t to stop it when AF came. Also on baby aspirin until 35-36 weeks. 
I don’t know if that’s the reason my baby girl has managed to make it through but I’ll be doing it with every other pregnancy.
