Baby registry?

I have no idea what to add to a baby registry. Most of the items we need are larger and I hate to make everything on there expensive because I don’t expect people to buy gifts that expensive. 
What do I definitely need to put on there?

It’s okay to put expensive items on there. For less expensive things you could put diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, lotions, powder, a bathtub, towel, clothes, blankets, etc. Definitely put an assortment of prices. It drives me crazy when people only have small things. I usually spend $200-$300 and I’m not going to buy 30 things so I just give cash if there’s nothing really good like the car seat, stroller, etc. I also think people like to go in on gifts as a group sometimes. You just never know.

For cheaper stuff: a few swaddle blankets, towels/wash cloths, diapers, bathtub, teething toys, feeding supplies (spoons, bowls, snack cups), nursing supplies if you plan on breastfeeding (nursing pads, nipple cream, nursing cover), thermometer, play mat, grooming set, baby meds, diaper cream, and baby wash. It is always good to put bigger stuff on there because you will get a discount for things not purchased and sometimes people like to go in together and get the larger items anyway.

put expensive. sometimes multiple people will go in on one item, like co workers for instance! bathtub, bumbo seat, high chair, swaddling blankets, plain white cloth diapers are great spit up rags and can be bleached, diapers, bouncy seat (I loved my fisher price infant/toddler rocker), humidifier, wipes, bibs...etc. I would avoid bottles and pacifiers, babies can be picky and I would personally try a few and see what works best before purchasing.

With target (if you are going with target) you get coupons for items left in your registry after your babyshower date. So I put the bigger items on there anyway, that way even if people dont buy them for me I get the coupons to purchase them myself. Usually the coupons are around 20% off.
