Spell of boredom or chronic problem? Please share your experience

Question

I always hear about people in long relationships getting into periods where their relationship is a lil rocky, they’re bored maybe, but it’s just a phase and they get through it. How do I know something is that and not me falling out of love with the person. Ivebeen dating my bf for two years. I just dont know if I’m bored or its something more. I’m 20 but he is my first real relationship. 
If you could please share if you’ve had this experience.

Love is a choice. The fluttery feelings you have at first are your hormones talking. Once you calm down a little, it can be a bit of a let down, so then you have to stop and evaluate the relationship and the person you're with. Do you genuinely like them? Do you have common interests and goals? Do you have fun together? Do you look forward to spending time with them?
Hormones are great at masking issues, so, as my mother would say, put your heart on hold for a while and use your head. Think about what you are looking for in a relationship and see if this guy matches up. No relationship is fun and exciting all the time. A lot of time is spent just doing life together, so find someone you want do that with, because looks fade, the fuzzy feelings don't last and in the end, what you're really looking for is someone you want to be with just as much in the mundane moments as in the exciting ones.
