Starting IVF soon..any tips?

Hi everyone. My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years without success. 6 months ago we found out the problem was because he had low sperm count (2.9 million) anybody ever had a successful IUI with that low of sperm count? We are trying to decide whether to start with IUI or go straight to IVF.
For those that have been through either, do you have any tips? Do you know of any financial assistance?

Hi there. We also have male factor infertility with sperm counts of 5-12 million. We did 3 or 4? IUI with no success. We are on first round of IVF now

My husbands count is 1.5 and they told us that IUI wouldn’t work. The RE said they need about 4 million sperm total (his 2.9 is per mL) in order to even attempt IUI

ICSI is probably you’re best bet. My husband has male factor extremely low count, motility, and morphology so we never even tried IUI!

Depending on where you live, there are grants and things in the US, but they're basically a lottery with an essay requirement.     As far as tips...just love yourself and your partner, be patient with each other and yourself.  The drugs WILL make you super emotional.   I had a breakdown in Target while helping a nice old lady pick a coffee maker.   Good luck.
