Is a growth scan important???

I have gestational diabetes controlled with diet and my numbers have been pretty awesome. My dr scheduled me for a sonogram at 34 weeks to check on baby’s growth and size. I pay for these out of pocket (~$200) and I’m wondering if this scan is even necessary. My measured fundal height has been about 2 weeks ahead for the past 6 weeks. I’ve heard that neither the fundal height or the sonograms are super reliable anyway and we are about to move and could use the money on baby things or needed furniture. Any thoughts?

With GD you probably should get the growth scan done. The measurement can be off by a pound or so but if the baby is measuring big they might want to induce you early or even schedule a c section. I think it’s important enough to get it done. I have GD and have had 2 growth scans.

I gad a growth scan dine for my baby when who's now seven months alot of iy i was told is the babys tend to be bigger... mine said baby would be 9lbs she was born 10lbs 13oz

I requested it because I know how dangerous it can be for baby... I suggest just doing it.. it’ll all be paid off in the end
