Is induction more painful??

I'm being told by friends and family that it does in fact hurt more... I'm scheduled to be induced on my due date, which is June 30th. Hopefully baby girl will come on her own! First pregnancy so I'm already nervous about everything 😂

I haven't been induced myself but know people who have . It doesn't make the pain any more than it would be naturally it's just more intense because it's being brought on faster with less time to regain in between

I’m being induced this Saturday (medical reasons) and it’s also my first, so I know exactly how you’re feeling. I’ve heard a mix of both actually, some women say it’s easier, others say it’s harder. I think it’s different for everyone. Obviously i’ve never had a natural birth before so wouldn’t be able to compare, which is probably a good thing! 😋

My first was natural and I got to 9.5 cm right when I got to the hospital. It was a breeze and recovery was amazing. My second I went because my water broke. They induced me with pitocin. Don’t do it unless 100% necessary. It was miserable and painful. Your stuck to a monitor because it’s more dangerous than natural labor so you can’t really leave the room or do to much to relieve pain naturally. I also had slower progression. There is also a higher risk for emergency c- section. May I ask, why are you getting induced?

It hurts more bc of the meds they put in you that causes the contractions.
