Baby shower before 20weeks

So this may sound weird to a lot of you but my family is all circus literally I'm 8th generation circus and my family will be in town when I'm 18 weeks so my mom would like to do my baby shower then because she has some money that she recently got but next time our family is in town is the very end of November and my mom doesn't want to wait that long because she knows she won't have any money then so I wanted to know opinions is 18 weeks to soon for a baby shower even due to the circumstances???
