Would it hurt to ask for a cervix check?

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow morning, and I'm really curious to know if I have dialated any. 
I feel like I have because my vagina just feels extremely loose.. I haven't had sex in a while either. 
I will be 38+4 and was wondering if it'd be weird if I asked her to check? :/

Not at all, my doctor told me after 37 weeks i could let her know if I want her to check. We have been checking for 2 weeks already

Not weird to ask at all.  Once I hit 36 weeks, my dr was cool with me getting one at every appt.
