Team Green Little Girl!
Well, after waiting and waiting to find out what we were having, our little Amelia rushed her way into the world on June 8, taking us all by surprise since she wasn't due until June 26th. I guess bouncing around the pool helped put things in gear!
I had to work the night of June 7, and by the time I finished, I was having pretty regular contractions but I didn't think they were long enough to time so I decided to go to bed. That lasted 10 minutes. They started coming fast and furious, so at 11, I woke my husband up, we packed my son up, dropped him off at a friend's and headed to the hospital. Got there at 11:30 and they had so many babies being born that night, they had no birthing rooms for me and I was dilated to 6cm and thin. They finally cleared out a room for me, and away we went. I thought I was going to do a natural birth, but my contractions were so intense, I asked for an epidural. Nope, no time for that. Contractions were coming fast and furious, and my nurse said if I let them break my water, we would have a baby in an hour. They broke my water, and three pushes later Ms. Amelia made her grand entrance into the world! She did some pretty intense damage to me since she came so fast. Second degree tear, and also tore my cervix, so I had to go into surgery shortly after she was born because I was losing so much blood. It has been a slow recovery b8ut looking at her sweet face every day makes everything so worth it!! Amelia is so loved by everybody, especially her big brother Elijah!!
