Visiting your newborn

Hello ladies!! We are almost at the finish line, and while we are getting last minute things together there is the dreaded (for some) topic of who can visit and when?

My mom and DH will be in the delivery room with me, and then she will come back to our house for a few hours a day TOPS. We have a midwife so she will come by and check on us the 3rd day.

I absolutely want no visitors before then. Meaning no one can come over until like 3-5 days after he is born. I'm a very private person and I hate entertaining people who visit on a normal day. This isnt any different. Then when people do come they all cant descend at once and yes there is a time limit. No more than 2 hours. After that first visit basically, I feel like the thrill of a newborn in the family should wear off and people can continue to leave me and my husband in peace. We live close to his family not mines, and normally they dont give us a second thought. So idk why they think now would be different.

What are the visiting rules, if any, do you ladies have in place?
