My husband's family says he's in line for twins. But isn't it the female?

I have twins on both sides of my family and my husbands father was a twin. So I asked my doctor about it. Identical twins is a fluke thing but fraternal twins can be hereditary. There is a gene for hyper ovulation that makes a woman drop more than one egg. That gene apparently can be passed from father to daughter. Which is why in some cases twins skip a generation. So it is possible to have twins if ur fathers family has twins. But if you have no twins in your family you may be ok. although the older u are when trying to conceive the more likely u will have twins bc apparently most women start to hyper ovulate as they age.

That is a myth. I just asked my Dr about that two weeks ago and he said it is an anomaly when there are groups of twins in one family but it isn't hereditary and you aren't more likely to have twins even if someone in your family has.

Yes its only females that carry it. Its not stupid . regardless of medicine..if generations of females that have twins can say its true fuck medicine. It is said that it skips a generation. My moms a twin she didn't have any so its me or my sister

When women release 2 eggs and they're fertilized they are considered fraternal twins meaning they could or could not look alike or be the same gender
When one egg is fertilized and it splits that's identical twins meaning they look and have everything alike and are the same gender
