Adoptive breastfeeding

Hey all! Just want your opinion. I saw a post today about adoptive breast feeding and how a women was taking supplements and pumping so she could breastfeed the baby she adopted. I never heard of this and I guess I’m confused why someone would do that? Is the breastmilk just as good? I mean our bodies prepare for 9 months to nourish a baby. Our breasts are developing that long as well to make sure we can nourish our baby after birth. If a woman was never pregnant can she really do this?
