Confused??? Trying to keep it simple 🤔

Soooooo.. I’m going to put this as it is.

Everything started on Sunday. I woke up and I felt a slight burning sensation around my vulva while peeing, I thought “hey, maybe this is normal! I’ve been sitting down most of these days because of school” (I go from 10am-4pm every day with just a 10 min break). My boyfriend and i tried to get it on, but the pain was unbearable. We decided to stop, I went to the bathroom again, and the burning was still there. At this point, I knew something was not right.

I decided to give it another day, maybe it’ll go away by its own, but it only got worse and worse. The burning was bad by Monday and by Tuesday, I had it, I knew I had to call my doctor. So I give her a call and tell her my symptoms and she asks to come in at 2pm and ready to give a sample to test. So I chugged a lot of water prior to my appt, and finally get there.. This is where things end up going a different route.

She comes in and tells me she’ll take a look down there, she starts pointing with her finger exactly where it was hurting, and as soon as she points at my urethra, I scream in pain.. Then, she tells me I have some “bumps” near my vagina that looked exactly like herpes.

I said “excuse me, what?” And she said “have you had any intercourse with a different partner?” And I said “no, I’ve been with the same guy for 6 months”, and she stayed completely in silence. FROM MY OWN KNOWLEDGE! The first herpes outbreak happens as soon as you get infected, between 2-20 days after the virus enters your body, i could be wrong? She messed with the bumps and ended up rupturing them, and now they burn like hell, lol. Now here’s my thing..

She tells me I don’t have a UTI, but I get results from my UA and there’s a trace of leukocytes and protein in it, that’s a sign of infection (I’m a vet tech, I know about UAs). The bumps.. They just showed up, my boyfriend tested for STDs prior to us being sexually active in January and came back clean, I got tested for most of them in April before being placed on the pill and came back clean, however, I wasn’t tested for herpes. There’s no way he could’ve cheated on me since we live together and we’re together ALL the time after I’m done with class. I confronted him and he cried and said he’d never do that to me, and that I didn’t have to go through this alone. He accepted whatever I had along with me and loved me for who I’ve been since we started dating.. however the both of us can’t seem to connect the dots, lol.

Any advice? I haven’t gotten my results from all my tests, so I wouldn’t know what’s going on lol. Can the first herpes outbreak show up years or months after being exposed? Or is it as soon as you get exposed?

***UPDATE***

Got back my test results and it turned it to be HSV-1, which is the oral herpes, I somehow got it down there. From my own experience, I don’t even remember my boyfriend having one or anyone from my past. I am sad, I feel like a failure. I can’t walk without feeling uncomfortable because of the few blisters I have. I wasn’t even able to sleep that well last night because certain sleep positions made my blisters burn. I just want an end to this. I got placed on antivirals and this is my second day on them. I’ve noticed a little improvement and i don’t wear anything tight at home, I’ve been wearing shorts at school to let the area heal. I’m so uncomfortable with everything. I just wanna cry.
