Trying to conceive after an ectopic pregnancy

Today I was very disappointed and a bit sad a month from now I would have been giving birth to my unborn child. Today I was hoping and praying my menstrual period did not show up, but with my luck it came. Will I ever get pregnant on my own with just my husband and I? I have a six year daughter I thank god I am bless and thankful that I do have her she is my world. She has been wanting a sibling since she was three and everyday she asks why is her little brother or sister not here yet? I wonder the same thing and it’s upsetting because my obgyn gave me hope like its still possible. She said first we try it naturally which comes with a high risk of losing my other tube or spend a lot of money for vitro fertilization. Vitro fertilization is not in option right now, so should I keep trying and let it happen naturally? Will it ever happen? has anyone ever conceive with in a year of having an ectopic pregnancy? And how long did it take?
