IUD's what is your opinion?

My boyfriend and I are considering this as birth control until we get married.  Please share your experiences and thoughts.

I've heard horror stories and lots of people who love them. Me personally I would never get anything that lived inside my vagina let alone cervix

I have the Paragard and I love it. No hormones. The pill killed my libido, made me vaginally dry, and my emotions go crazy. I feel like a fog has been lifted from me. Check out IUD Divas its a wonderful resource and helped me make my decision to take  the leap. I was scared because I read so many negative things online, but IUD Divas gives a well rounded perspective and can help answer many questions you might have. I had a Mirena, and I LOOOOOOOVED it. I'll be getting another one once this baby is out! Definitely w great choice. I didn't necessarily want to go the implant route at first, but I knew I'm inconsistent taking the pill, too heavy for the patch (yes there's a weight limit!), and I didn't want to deal with a Nuva ring. Best decision I made and I can't wait to get one again. No periods, for me the small dose of constant hormones really mellowed me out, fabulous. My SO could never feel the strings either.

I'm sorry I just have to post this, from the International Planned Parenthood Foundation. IUD's do NOT cause an abortion to prevent pregnancy.

It was always giving me a pinching pain, especially when I first had it. Then the string never curved to my cervix so it poked my hubby. I had my doctor cut the string shorter. He could still feel it sometimes. I Had it removed 2 years later and she had to search for it with a pap brush!!! Ouch lol. So... I would never get it again. Also, it made me very dry down south. I thought it was from having a baby and breastfeeding. Nope. I got it removed and I was normal again!! That's my experience. If I could do it again I would have chosen the arm implant. Same birth control, but an easier insert and removal. (You will also spot for forever with these until you don't have a period anymore) okay I'm finished lol

Hated it. It hurt my hubby's penis head. The strings scratched him up. It aborted if I conceived. I do not agree with abortion, so it was a bad birth control for me. I lost two pregnancies. I also had the WORST period pains ever while on the thing!! It hurt to put in. I fainted.

I had to get mine removed in December (got it in September) due to nonstop bleeding and horrible cramps and headaches :( but everyone is different

I've had a copper IUD for a year and a half now and it's been great for me,  love it!  Just make sure you check on it every month and later on every few months

Okay ladies well here's the update; I went into my gynecologist office today to have the procedure is done.  Epic Fail! I went to the doctor on my period just like instructed Dr went over everything all the risks and rewards and then it started. Dr stretch me open a little larger than when needed for a regular examination. Then she went in to start measuring me for the device it was excruciating. I'm in tears screaming on the table. I'm pretty sure the entire suite heard me. My background is I did have a child however it was csection and my cervix is extremely small and so is my canal leading to my cervix.  The Dr stopped and told me my options, she did not want to hurt me any further. My options are either to take a pill to soften my cervix or try a different form of birth control ...... has anybody heard of NEXPLANON?
