Baby Sprinkle?

My best friend is encouraging me to allow her to throw me a "baby sprinkle" for our second. Our first is a boy and almost 2 1/2. This one is a girl! I, of course, love the idea of baby girl gifts, but I feel a little bit greedy asking friends and family for more stuff. Opinions? Has anyone had a Sprinkle for baby 2+?

A new mom told me her family threw a Big Sister shower for her daughter. Guests brought her 5 year old daughter gifts as well as gifts for the baby. Her daughter got to open all the gifts for herself and her baby brother. I thought it was a cute idea.

I had a sprinkle with #2 and it was the same sex. I had a large over the top shower the first time around. The second was just immediate family and closest friends just to celebrate the new baby. (Clothes, diapers, etc) I am on baby #3, and my mother is throwing me a sip & see because I'm not finding out the sex this time. I don't think it's greedy at all. You're having a new baby and the people that love you would like to show their love for your new child. 
What I do have a problem with is people that throw themselves showers.... But that's another discussion in itself.

Totally makes sense for an opposite gender baby #2! I threw a diaper shower for my friend recently and it was great bc people could buy ANY size of diapers or wipes so didn't have to spend a ton.

My friend keeps saying if she gets pregnant with a girl (they have 1 boy) she's gonna have a party where we all bring girl clothes. Lol but I think diapers and such would make more sense

I think you should have another baby shower! I could see a cute sprinkler shower, if you were having another boy , but it's girl! You need all new stuff! My first was a girl and now im having a boy so my friend is throwing s shower!

Don't worry you're not greedy it's completely understandable to have one for opposite sex babies. My cousin & his wife have 6 children 5 boys & 1 girl in which they had a baby shower for each pregnancy (now that's greedy)

I was going to have one if this was a girl. Nothing wrong with it at all. You need girl stuff. Any of your big items you already have a sprinkle is for the little things. I never had a shower for my daughter, but had one for my son. They are 12 years apart. This new one is a boy so no sprinkle needed. He is using his brothers stuff.

My friend is throwing me a shower for baby #2. I don't see anything wrong with it. My shower with my 1st I didnt get a lot of stuff, but we had fun, and that was perfectly fine by me.
