No arguing with fiancé?

My fiancé and I have been engaged for a year, I’m ready to set a date now, and he said once we can go three months without having a bad argument then he would be ready to set a date. He still wants to marry me, but wants it to be when we are both on good terms and doesn’t want any tension around wedding time. How can I not argue at all?!

He said no bad arguments. That doesn’t mean that you can’t disagree with him, it just sounds like he wants to step forward in your relationship by moving to mature disagreements. Have an honest talk where you two speak about what is unfair fighting to you - name calling, threatening to break up, breaking things, whatever. Discuss what’s out of bounds, and also talk about an escape plan - for example, if one if you gets really overwhelmed in an argument and wants to do something on your “not allowed” list, agree that that person can call a time out or walk away to another room without being followed so they can calm down. You don’t want to start your life together by verbally abusing each other and having horrible fights. Your fiancé is right to ask this of you. Sit down with him and make a plan.

It sounds like you would benefit from pre-marriage counseling. You will disagree about things, it’s inevitable, but your arguments don’t have to be “bad.” I think you need to flesh out what he means - is he hoping that you two will learn to communicate better and handle your disagreements in healthier ways? Or is he expecting you to not disagree AT ALL? If it’s the second then that’s pretty unrealistic

I mean if you want to argue and have to argue then he's not the type for you 🤷🏼‍♀️ go to marraige counseling beforehand. somethings you just have to ignore that he does that pisses you off. if not then you'll lead him into an unhappy marraige by nagging him and co stably trying to pick a fight. normal fights are fine but if you can suck it up for 3 months just enough to pick a date then idk what to tell you.
