What is the difference between being gay and being lesbian???

Just different terms for similar things. Usually gay is am umbrella term used for anyone lgbtq+ and anything same sex. Gay is also used for homosexual men or men attracted to men. Lesbian is primarily used for homosexual females or women attracted to women.

Correct. Gay is specifically meant for men who exclusively like and date men. But 'Gay' is also an umbrella term for same-sex relationships. Lesbian, however, is exclusively for women who are only attracted to women. Bisexual women, for example, should not use 'lesbian' to describe themselves. Although I suppose they could say they're "in a lesbian relationship."
