hand foot mouth disease

My nephew was just diagnosed with hand foot mouth. My son is the same age. Last time we saw him was Thursday and Friday and the rash started on Saturday.

What are the chances my son will get it? We are leaving for vacation this week and I'm worried he won't show any symptoms until we are there.

If my son does end up with it, what are some recommendations on how to help keep him comfortable?
