Not full?

My son is 2 1/2 months old and he’s already eating 6oz. which I thought was an insane amount but he drinks it all without any problems and no puking: but he seems to still be hungry after 6oz. Any tips or ideas as to why?

He’s probably still hungry. I’ve always breast fed and neither of mine would take a bottle unfortunately so I have no idea how much they would drink at a time but if I nursed and they were complaining when we were done I’d nurse some more lol. Sometimes it felt like all I ever did was nurse...babies eat a lot. Both of mine also liked to cluster feed in the evening so they would pack it in for a couple hours straight and then sleep a little longer.

He could just be a hungry baby. My daughter is 6 weeks and she is already drinking 5oz every 2 hours. Sometimes she will drink bottle after bottle. The other day she went through 12oz in 3 hours!

My youngest was drinking 8 oz but the time he was 2 wks old And it was every hour to 2 hours I was also breastfeeding as much as I could.

That is too much! Babies shouldn’t be eating more than 5oz at a time until they are a year! The general rule is 1-1.5oz an hour so if baby eats every three hours then a normal bottle would be 3-4.5oz. Babies should have 24-32oz a day. And for anyone saying that’s underfeeding, my son is in the 90th percentile for weight and he is a chunky 6 month old. Over feeding can lead to over eating in adulthood. Not to mention how much money formula is 😂. My son isn’t formula fed but is breast fed but same rules apply. Look up pace feeding and try that out. Babies tend to overeat from a bottle.

I feed on demand and let him decide when he’s done. Idk if you’re BF or using formula but I’ve only BF so idk if it’s different for formula? I would ask the dr if you’re not sure just so you don’t worry about over/under feeding 💕 maybe it’s a growth spurt? My son ate every single hour and cleaned out both sides every time from 2-4 months. 😬
