Opk's with FMU! Please help!

I lost the instructions for my opks and have been using them for close to 3 wks now (20 count box) with my fmu. They started out with no test line and with each passing day the test line kept gradually getting darker (with fmu) until finally on monday and tuesday I got what appeared to be positive opks, and also on tuesday only for a few hours I had EWCM. Today I decided to google the instructions for the brand of opks I have and it says do not use fmu. So my question is since I have been using fmu were the positives I got really positive? Or is it invalid? Please help me
