long distance relationships are hard, but depending on the couple, if you really have a strong emotional connection and  they are the one you are meant to be with, they can definitely work.
I'm in a long distance relationship, my fiancé lives 7,000 miles away, I love him so much, I live to see him whenever I can, yes it's expensive and yes leaving causes so much heartache, every time but I wouldn't have it any other way :')

Me and my fiancé met on meet me in 2012, he lived 4 hours away. We met face to face in 2014 and now I moved up with him and we are planning our wedding! It takes time, trust, and commitment from both ends. Make trips to see one another during summer breaks, or maybe meet half way and spend the weekend together. FaceTime is a life saver. We used to fall asleep FaceTiming one another, but now we sleep in OUR bed! They can definitely work, both sides just have to want it.

It honestly depends. I’m going to be going through one fairly soon myself. By boyfriend is going to Slovakia for 11 months no visits or visitors and minimal contact. But if you truly trust and love the person that it can work.

Well I’m about to do this, and he’s going away for 4 years to study. He keeps telling me everything will be okay but I just can’t help but feel like the best parts of me is leaving. I’m typing this right now and I can’t help but cry. I know I should be happy for him, getting a masters degree is suppose to be something wonderful. But I can’t stand it, that’s 4 years, I’ll be 28 by the time he finishes. The thing I’m most afraid of though is that he finds comfort in someone else, he falls in love with someone else.
