Do you think social media has set unrealistic standard for postpartum bodies?

🌙🔮

So we’ve discussed a lot how the rise of social media effects our populations body image and sets an unrealistic standard of beauty but I feel like we’ve never focused it on postpartum bodies in particular.

I see a lot of postpartum bodies on instagram that let’s face it aren’t the typical postpartum body. Most women don’t just have a baby and their stomach free of stretch marks, free of belly flab, ect. Most postpartum bodies don’t have the perfect breasts or no cellulite on thighs and butt.

Scientifically our bodies do this during pregnancy and after, the skin stretches, we usually get more cellulite, and bunch of other stuff that comes with hormonal changes during this time.

I personally feel like the image of what the average postpartum body looks like is few and far between on social media. Postpartum has been personally my biggest struggle with my body image and I was wondering if other women felt that this standard of what a mom looks like doesn’t represent the reality for most people. How does this effect the way you feel about yourself and your postpartum body?
