I should have called 9-1-1 or did I do the right thing
Okay I was in Wal-Mart (my first mistake) and there was this baby 8-10 months old; in a car seat sweating, hair drenched, lethargic eyes and almost purple in the face. I walked past the mother and father...I usually mind my business. But I couldn’t. I went back to the isle with the parents and suggested the mother removed one of the two heavy blankets covering the child. She did. But then I saw the baby was wearing one of the zip up onesie blanket/coats. I asked them mom if I could buy the child a short set. She said okay and we picked some summer items out. I purchased them, removed the tags and handed them to mom and dad.
Now hours later I feel like I should have called the police 😭😓😢. The baby looked sooooo sick. I should have purchased some juice and a bottle. Idk...I’m having so many after thoughts. What if the baby was dehydrated or starving. She didn’t look right. All I was concerned about was getting her out of the winter clothes. It was above 80 degrees in Maryland today.
But I had an ice cream cake melting in my cart and stuff for my sons birthday party...so I didn’t take the necessary time to help the couple. I was irritated with them and only focused on the baby’s clothing.
I have sooooooooooo much guilt now 😭😭
