SPD - Tips?

Does anyone have any tips for SPD? I'm almost 18 weeks and already having difficulty.

I started having it around then and it sucks! The main thing is trying to keep your knees together and your legs straight or inwardly rotating (rather than opening up your hips like you would sitting cross legged). So trying to keep your legs together when you turn over in bed or get out of the car (swivel). But I think what really helped me was a strengthening exercise my prenatal yoga teacher showed me. Take a yoga block (or any light, rectangular object that's about 6 inches wide), and stand with it between your legs up near your groin. Then (very slightly) try to rotate your legs inward toward one another, envisioning that you could shoot the block out behind you. (This won't happen but it will help you tap into the right muscles). Once you figure out what you're trying to strengthen, you can do it any time you're standing!  After doing that periodically for a few weeks and trying not to open my hips much, I'm almost pain free!
