seems like a waiting game

hello everyone OK so my last period was June 12 2014 I tested 6 days before my next expected period which was July 10 2014 and I tested 2 days after all negative... its been a week now and still no period..been having adnominal pains sore boobs...back ache on and off for the past week.... how long am I suppose to wait to test I spoke to a nurse she told me a week or more but I don't want to keep buying test and be disappointed and having all this anxiety built up to keep waiting for days until it actually says I'm pregnant..from your opinion how long do you think I should wait and what type of test is more accurate and sensitive to tell me my answer
