girlfriend/coming out

so I'm 14 and I'm a lesbian. my dad didn't know and I wasn't planning on telling him any time soon. but then, a few weeks ago, I started dating the loveliest girl on this world. i told my dad and was hella scared. i felt like I needed to because my gf is like the coolest person ever. i texted him (because I'm too awkward and anxious to tell him face to face) that I had a girlfriend. i was scared because i thought he would be mad. his response was " are you kidding me??!? I'm not ready to have be a rat grandpa!" (she owns 3 pet rats btw). so i guess is went well.
