Surgical Technician?

Is anyone on here a Surgical Technician? I already work in the medical field, I've just be considering this for a long time. Do you like it? What are your hours like? Any thoughts?.

I am!! I love it!! I currently work five 8hr shifts 7am to 3:30pm, but my team also offers four 10's, three 12's, or two 10's and two 12's. The team I'm on does Urology and robotic surgery, so we're not scheduled for off shifts, but we do take call during those hours. We work one Saturday a month in exchange for a week day off. All of that could be different at another hospital though. 
Not going to lie, the schooling was very intense and difficult, but every program is different.

It's also a job that's quite hard on the body. Good compression socks and yoga area good way to combat the negative effects of awkward standing positions and the general bad posture that goes along with being at the bedside.

My biggest issue with this particular career is that no matter how hard I work, in 10 years I will still have the same job title, making around the same amount of money. You can go back to school to become a first assisst. Which I am currently looking into.

If you're not squeamish and can handle difficult personalities, I say go for it!!
