Im trying to make the best possible decision for me AND baby. I have high blood pressure and I just found out I’m pregnant. I made an OB appointment but it’s not until the 10th of July and the office won’t advise me until my first appointment. I’m estimating that I’m around 5weeks pregnant.

I’ve been on 25mg hydroclorothiazide (water pill) for a couple years for mildly high BP. As soon as I got a positive preg test I stopped taking it because it’s not recommended for pregnant women.

So, For the majority of tonight I have had a BP related migraine and my right arm has been tingling a lot. I decided to take it so nothing bad will happen to me. 172/96 is my last BP reading before taking it.

I was pregnant before and had a miscarriage (not related to high BP) my doc immediately took me off hydroclorothiazide and put me on labatalol. I have labatalol at the pharmacy but I can’t get it until tomorrow morning. My mom seems to think it’s a better option to take hydroclorothiazide rather than potentially have a stroke.

Any ppl in medical field or with this experience......plz give me your opinion!
