Pissed at my bf. Won’t let him come home

So we both work together. We’re in the medical field and I went over to his unit to take some linen I needed to properly change and clean & take care of my patients. I remember him telling me that he didn’t used a specific type of linen, so, I was going to ask him if I can have them. I couldn’t find him & my patients needed changing so I just took all of them & left. I did that because, I remember him say repeatedly that he doesn’t use those type of linen countless times. Anywho, he was calling me and trying page me. He came to my unit & we were outside the hospital around employees, smoking only. Area. He got upset and told me why did I take the linen & went on saying I was selfish. I said “oh sorry. I remember you saying you didn’t use them so I took them.” I thought he would just take them back and walk away but he’s gets loud. Now, our coworkers even heard him and me go back and fourth and I’m just so embarrassed and upset right now. I understand he was mad but that was NOT THE TIME OR THE PLACE!!! I got so angry I just walk away and I text him not to come home. One thing I don’t do is be unprofessional in my line of work or let my employees see that personal side of me . Did I over react? What should I do?
