When you got  married did u buy your own ring?

I picked out my wedding band & essentially paid for it since we had a joint bank account.

I don’t think you should have to pay for it yourself, but choosing or designing the ring is fine if your partner gives you the option.

We had a joint bank account when he proposed, but he picked out the engagement ring all on his own. Of course I knew about the ring, hello $4k on my credit card is hard to miss. But when he drove from California to Texas to be with me at the end of August 2016, I knew getting engaged was right around the corner (November 4, 2016). 
Moving to Texas is why we ended up getting a joint account. He didn’t have a job lined up yet, but I couldn’t go another day being 1,800 miles apart. I told him not to worry I’d take care of everything (bills) until he figured something out. It took 5 weeks for him to find a good paying job, but I came home to a SPOTLESS apartment every day before he finally landed one. 
He let me choose my own wedding band, although I’m pretty sure he would have picked the exact same one as it is identical to the engagement ring band.

Engagement ring was all him/surprise, but when we got married we went together and I picked out one I liked and went with the engagement ring

Yup, we each picked out our own rings and paid with our joint account. My husband proposed with a different ring but told me i could pick out the one I wanted, so I did lol.

I had mine made. My husband and I worked together on what we wanted for our rings.

Both our rings. Than we have tattoos too.  Can wear our rings much.
