Is my dr crazy?

I called this morning bc the zofran isn’t working. The dr (not mine, but a diff one within the practice) told the nurse to tell me not to eat anymore food today, not to have anything for 2 or 3 hours, and then only have clear liquids. And if the nausea hasn’t subsided by tomorrow morning to call so I can be seen. Won’t not eating make me feel even worse???

If eating small meals and always having something in your stomach isn't helping then yes, it might be worth a try. Not everyone experiences symptoms in the same way. I had hyperemesis with my first pregnancy and when I got into a cycle of vomiting eating made it 100% worse. If I took a little break I was able to keep my meds down and then would feel a bit better the next day.

That sounds ridiculous. When you don’t eat and are already a bit nauseous, your stomach/it’s acid has nothing to work with. 
Try saltine crackers and water. If it’s bad in the morning when you first wake up, have crackers beside your bed so you can eat a couple before even standing up. Try having something in your stomach as often as possible, even if it’s just crackers. Protein of any kind will help as well, if you can stomach it. These two tricks plus ginger or ginger candies, nausea wrist bands, and peppermint essential oil are the things that have helped me the most!

That will 100% make it worse. I was in the hospital for hypermisive and they told me to try and keep something in my stomach at all times even while throwing up because having an empty stomach makes nausea worse.
