What do I do?

This guy and I have been talking a really long time and I see him everyday. About two weeks ago he told me he loved me for the first time. I truly do feel the same way so of course, I said it back. What I’m having a bit of a hard time with is that we’re actually not dating. But it’s like we are. We hold hands and go on dates and all that. The other day, I asked him about it and he said that he’s been thinking about it but that’s all he said. I of course told him to take all the time he needs but I can’t help but think the worst. (Side note: he’s already in college but he’s actually never had a girlfriend.) I just keep thinking that maybe it’s because he doesn’t want me or something like that. Someone please help me. I don’t know what to do.
