Baby name too common?? 😞

Soooo I love unique and different names. I have a toddler son whose name isn’t common and I get tons of compliments. Well I’ve had the name “Penelope” on my name list for yearssssss now, I love that name! I originally loved “Persephone” but my fiancé thinks it’s ugly 😒 So we decided to name our August baby Penelope Autumn. BUT I’ve been hearing the name more and more AND I just saw in the Baby Names group a discussion on the name that it’s a very common/popular name right now. The whole reason I’ve loved that name was because it wasn’t really common and now it’s become a popular name! Should we change her name or keep it?? I love the name but would hate to see 5 other “Penelope’s” in her class

I wouldn’t worry too much it’s a pretty name but I doubt there will be loads of Penelopes in one place yes it’s getting popular but it’s pretty and you love it so stick with it! I like the name Penelope but can’t use it as the shortening to penny with my surname would mean hell for my kid so I’m a bit gutted 😢

I think you'll be fine, it's not like Olivia or Jackson where the name is so common everywhere. It's rising in popularity but that doesn't mean your Penelope will know a hundred other Penelopes! If you want something similar but less common you could use Calliope, pronounced cah-LIE-o-pee, nickname Callie :)

If your going for unique I would skip Penelope ,that name is literally everywhere on top baby names ..and I think I doesn’t help that one of the kardashians named their daughter that to add to the name craze.

My baby’s name is Michael and we get tons of compliments BECAUSE it’s common! Especially from older people 🤣 don’t name your baby something you don’t love just because you want it to be unique. I have a unique name and I’ve hated it my whole life. It makes the dumbest things complicated. Penelope is a beautiful name. Keep it :)

If it was in the top 10 I would advise you to find something else.
