Has anyone cut their own hair before?

If so, was there a specific tutorial you followed? 
I wanna cut my hair, but it’s a little overwhelming.

Coming from someone who has attempted cutting my own hair many times and realizing it’s uneven then having to make an appointment and shamefully explain my impulsive behavior to the stylist more times than I can recall- I am gonna say don’t do it yourself, just go to a hair cuttery or anywhere and let a professional cut it.

Don’t hold your scissors horizontally, it will look choppy. If you’re doing a trim then part your hair like you normally do and put it in low loose pigtails. Hold the scissors almost vertically and cut to your desired length. This is how I do mine, if you’re going for bangs I’d suggest a professional. And start off longer than your desired length, you can always cut more but can’t get the length back after

I only trim the ends and I kind of just stand in the mirror, bring it all to the front and freehand it
