MTHFR gene?

I just found out on top of everything else I have 1 form of the Mtfhr and my doctor prescribed me folic acid because my body is not absorbing folic acid. Said this could help prevent miscarriage. I just had one in May which is why they did some extra testing. Does anyone have experience with this what does your doctor have u taking?

I don't know if I have it but I remember reading you need to take folate supplements not folic acid supplements.  I'm not sure so I take folate just to be safe.

Yes after having my 3rd miscarriage a few years ago my dr did a laundry list of testing on me. A long with a few other problems I found out I also had 1 form of Mthfr gene. I was put on a prescription prenatal vitamins at that time that had a folate and took it during my pregnancy with my 2nd child. 
We are currently trying to conceive again but this time I’m take L-methyl folate 1000mcg with a prenatal vitamin. Apparently the prescription prenatal vitamin I took two years ago is no longer being made.

I take 5000mcg of folic acid because my son as born with a cleft lip and we don't know why but the genetic dr said that it could help prevent..
