TTC after a miscarriage: how long should you wait?

I would love to hear some advice and everyone's thoughts about trying to conceive again after a miscarriage. I miscarried my first baby a week ago. I was 6.5 weeks along and everything happened suddenly. I didn't require a D+C and passed everything at home. I have been grieving, and desperately miss my baby. I am trying to look forward and hope to someday be blessed with a rainbow baby. I feel ready to try again in the next few month's. My doctor said I can try again after one cycle. Is there anyone who has been in my shoes?? Thanks
