Do I need to wait for dr?

I’m 4 weeks postpartum and so ready to be intimate with my husband again! I had a good delivery, I had a small tear and have 1 inner stitch and 1 outer. I know everywhere says wait 4-6 weeks for sex and until ur dr appt so dr can give you the green light.
Butttttt.... my appt isn’t for another 2 weeks!!!! Do I really need to wait? Is there a way I can check myself and see if I’m healed and good to go?

Yes, you do need the all clear from doc first. Tearing isn't the only problem, it's an infection in your uterus. You have a big wound in the wall of your uterus from your placenta, so if your cervix is not yet closed and you haven't given yourself enough time to heal (even if you feel 'fine') you risk infection then you'll have to wait a hell of a lot longer for sex if that happens. So just wait the 2 weeks, it's not that long. I'm 4 months pp and STILL haven't had sex, that shit is super uncomfortable.

You wont be able to check your cervix and uterus yourself. It’s always best to wait for a dr. 2 weeks is nothing. 
Even if you feel fine, it’s not really a risk you should take. I felt “fine” almost immediately after with very little discomfort but I wasn’t 100% healed until 7 - 8 weeks later.

I was cleared at 4 weeks but I know it’s not the same for everyone. You’ve waited 4 weeks so what’s two more? Maybe see if you can get an appointment earlier?

Wait you could get pregnant as your super fertile after having a baby!! 6 week appointment is for birth control as well as making sure your healed properly, you just had a baby that takes a toll on your body, rest and recover and wait for your appointment

I did not go to dr at all! Everything healed after 2 weeks, I felt great , everything was great:) and i start with sex early, after month already

Yes you really need to wait. The risks are much too great. If something happened, you’d be sorry.

Nobody here can give you green light. You may get an infection or you may be fine. The question is whether you want to risk it. You can be intimate with your partner in so many other ways, perhaps you could simply hold off penetration for another 2 weeks.
