Which works better for your period, Diva Cups or Tampons?

I am looking for some opinions & feedback on diva cups. I use Tampons & am really tired of the leakage & pain they are causing me. I want to know what works best for you and what’s your brutal honest opinion on both options. I’ve looked up the cups online and I want the opinions from you all!

Honestly, I just said tampons because I haven’t tried the diva cup yet. Planning to.

This woman has some really great in depth reviews of the diva cup as well as other menstrual products. I like her because she literally does daily updates during her cycle while she’s actually using the products.

This girl is younger but she has a whole playlist of videos dedicated to just reviewing cups and comparing them on her channel. I know Diva cups are most popular because they have the most name brand recognition but you might find one of another brand that’s more suited to you. 
And then of course you can just fall down the YouTube rabbit hole of other cup videos that might help you find something!

If your tampons are regularly leaking and causing pain you’re 1. Not using the right size for your flow and/or 2. Not inserting them correctly. You could try switching brands. A little leak here and there is fine just be mindful that just because you can leave them in for up to 8 hours doesn’t mean that’s how long they should last leak free. 
I’ve used both at this point (granted cup wise I’ve only tried the Softcups. They’re cheaper and disposable vs something like a Diva Cup.) There is a far greater learning curve for cups and then there’s the issue of if you need to empty it out in a public bathroom it can get quite messy. Not to mention if for any reason the seal breaks and you leak with a cup it’s a whole gush of blood coming out at once. I use cups if I’m at home or know I won’t be out for a long time otherwise I go with tampons or pads.

Diva cups are the best thing that’s ever happened to my periods. Lol. I don’t dread my period at all anymore because of it!
