Birth plans anyone?

I wrote out a birth plan but still unsure if I want to use it. Do they actually read through it or just take it and move on? I didn’t write one out for my first so I still iffy about using it this time around.

My Dr told me it’s good to have just in case something happens that renders me unable to communicate. Obviously we can have our “plans” and life just happens, but the staff likes to know what your ideal birth would look like.

I thought the same but my doctor went through it and 2 days later I got a call from the head midwife in the hospital I'm delivering in to discuss the plan too. I was so surprised!

I was told they are more receptive to them if you call it your birth preferences and know that they may not be able to accommodate them all.

We weren’t going to have one, but our hospital actually has a digital template they ask everyone to fill out to have with your chart just in case.  
While we aren’t picky, simply want what’s most efficient, it helps them with care knowing everyone’s individual styles.

All my midwives have loved visual birth plan and saw it as sign i was invested in my birth. As long as i was flexible.  i included part that said " in case of cesarean " .
