What does 2 cycles actually mean?

Hoping someone else has asked this question before I call my doctor. I had a D&C; after a missed miscarriage on June 8th. Our doctor said if we got pregnant after the first cycle, it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but she recommends waiting 2 cycles. I just got my first period today (4 weeks after my D&C;). So, can we start trying again after my next period after this one? Is that waiting two cycles? OR do I need to wait until after my 3rd period?

My doctor said one normal cycle. So two periods and then start trying. Same thing too, not the end of the world if you get pregnant without waiting but to wait will make sure your uterine lining has time to regrow and such.
