I just made an appointment to the gynecologist for the first time and I am a nervous wreck!

I’m 22 and recently became sexually active for the first time ever with my boyfriend. I don’t know what to expect at the appointment and am scared to discuss option on birth control. I’ve heard so many bad stories about being on the pill and it’s freaking me out about even thinking about being on it. Is it really that bad to be on?

Can someone give me a heads up of what to expect at the appointment.. regular procedures and all!
