My good friend just found out that she’s pregnant with her first. She’s 35 and told me yesterday that her pregnancy is considered a geriatric pregnancy. Is it just me or does that seem a bit absurd?

Update: I guess it’s not an update, more of an explanation of what I feel. 😬 I think the reason it grinds my gears is that it just seems like another way to apply pressure to women to manipulate them into doing what society wants, when it wants. Society says: “Don’t have kids young, you’re not ready! But you’ll feel ashamed for having kids past a certain age also.” Maybe it’s just that I’m pregnant and hormonal and that’s why I’m so upset about this.
