Consistent Painful Contractions But No Dilation?

I’ve been contracting all day. I’ve went in once a few weeks ago for painful contractions but they weren’t dilating me. But they were frequent and coming closer together. I’m 37+2 and have been crampy and contracting all day and woke up with lots of mucus plug but no spotting. Any ideas if this is early labor or? Doctor said I’ve been in early labor since 35 weeks.
