Still using infant car seat?

Question

Anyone still have their toddler in an infant car seat? I have the Chicco Key Fit 30 (for up to 30lbs) and my 20 month old daughter is only 20lbs and she still fits in it pretty well except for slightly crunched up legs since I still have her rear facing. I have heard that keeping children rear facing for as long as possible is safest but I’m wondering how long most people are really  keeping their kids rear facing?

my son stopped using the infant seat at about 8 months. he is much more comfortable in the convertible one. it sits a bit more upright and has more leg room. I plan on rear facing until at least 3 or 4

I'll keep my kid rear facing for as long as I can (aka until hes too big to rear face). I have heard way too many stories of children dying from their necks snapping during a car accident because they were turned around too soon. Sorry, I know that's graphic - but it's true! It just happened to a family in my area less than a year ago.
We switched to a convertible carseat a long time ago because my sister needed an infant carseat. There are very nice affordable options!

My son moved out of the infant seat probably about 9 or 10 months. We have been using a Gracco convertible. We are rear-facing until 2 or later, that is what we were told to do by his pediatrician.

we started using a convertible seat from birth since it will last the longest. my son is 27 lbs and 36", but we will continue to rear face till 3 minimum

Make sure she isn’t too tall - height is usually exceeded first. Convertible car seat rear facing is perfect for growing toddlers!
