why won't my 19 month old go to sleep by herself?!

My DD is 19 months old and will not put herself to sleep by herself, meaning I literally have to let her fall to sleep on myself or next to me. I need suggestions on how to get her to fall to sleep by herself without giving me or my husband hell or crying forever. HELP PLEASE!!!

It’s totally normal! You can sleep train if you want but if you don’t mind her falling asleep on you, it’s nothing to worry about. Check out the website called The Milk Meg. She has some great info about nursing toddlers and sleep.

Following! My 19 month-old son is the same way. He sleeps in bed with me and I have to lay next to him for him to fall asleep for naps and at night. But until 15 months he had to nurse to sleep, so we are making progress, albeit slowly. I'm growing worried that he will still not be able to fall asleep without me when I'm in the hospital having his little brother in September.

Sleeping on their own is completely developmental and is different for all kids. You can sleep Train but it will just come with time.

Look up taking cara babies on Instagram or Facebook. She is amazing at sleep training. We did it with our son and he is champ sleeper ever since. It is not free but will save your sanity. I cannot say enough good things about her program.

My son used to go to sleep on his own until he got sick and so we cuddled him to sleep those nights. Since then he won’t go to sleep unless with us and it’s been months 😭

I have the opposite issue my daughter goes to sleep fine on her own but wakes in the middle of the night and refuses to go back to sleep in her crib
