Update# I have the most beautiful daughter!!

They checked me around 8 in the morning and they were wondering if my discharge was actually my water so they did a strip test and it came back positive for my water breaking so I started receiving pitocin...boy did those contractions get worse! Around 10:30 they started having me push and it turned out my water hadn't fully broken, just had a high leak. They broke my water and the contractions INTENSIFIED!! I had no epidural, didn't want it...until I started pushing man did that hurt. I remember doing a LOT of screaming while pushing. At one point I got so hot I started ripping off my gown lol

As I'm delivering the nursery nurses and doctors come in since Joanna was a preemie and it turns out my husband knew one of them, he grew up with her kids, so in the middle of labor they start having a full on conversation until I scream "SHUT UP CLARK!". I was just a little witchy lol but as soon as her head passed she came right out and they were able to put her on me. She is perfect! A full head of hair and so strong! Because she's a preemie her lungs aren't fully developed so she has to be on the ventilator for a few days but she's already doing amazing and the doctor is beyond confident she'll come off today!

Y'all! This girl!! (sorry so long) My EDD for our little Joanna was Aug. 19th...well, on July 13th she decided nope! Time to try say hello to the world! Friday morning I felt pressure in my pelvis but I just thought she was dropping so I went about my day. Mid day my husband came home after finding me asleep on the couch lol and we enjoyed lunch. After lunch he left for work and I noticed my pressure was kind of coming and going. I'm a FTM so I didn't know if that was normal or the start of anything. Went to the bathroom and my discharge was tinted with blood. So I called my doctor expecting her to say it's normal and to come in and get checked, nope she told me to go to labor and delivery.

So I grab my hospital bag (which thankfully I've had packed for weeks), diaper bag, and car seat JUST IN CASE and make the drive to the hospital with the intent that I'll be sent right back home. On my way my mom calles to complain about having to try to pick up fruit for my baby shower happening the very next day, I don't tell her where I'm headed as she was having to take my grandmother to the hospital (in a different city) at the same time...no need to worry her.

As I drive to the hospital my coming and going pressure turns into cramp like pressure...I get to the hospital and sign in. They take me back and start asking the million and one questions...

After that is done the nurse calls my doctor for the next step who orders I get checked...low and behold I was 3cm dilated and 90% effaced at 34wks and 5 days time to admit me

My husband is still at work so I text him, "call me, you need to come in" and after speaking with him I call my mom "mom, cancel the shower I'm in labor". The calls all start lol. They admit me and explain that because I'm already 3cm and 90% effaced they aren't sending me home, they aren't trying to stop the labor, but they aren't trying to induce it either so this began my bed rest...I'm losing my mind! The first night I couldn't sleep. Checked me around 6 am and I was 4cm, checked me again at 10 am July 14th and I was 7!!

The nurses are all impressed as I'm handling this as a champ! Taking IV meds occasionally to help me rest because I do not want an epidural! Because I haven't had my group B strep test I have to be treated as positive and receive penicillin every 4 hours...that sucks.

Y'all, it's currently 3:30 am July 15th and I'm still 7cm! I'm so tired, anxious, and scared!
