Birth Control and Period

I started back onto the pill 3 weeks ago, right at the end of my last period. I started the week of sugar pills yesterday. According to Glow, I was supposed to start my period yesterday. I've had symptoms (bloating, irritability, cramping) but no period yet. I did have sex the day before I started my BC (so I was on my period), but he pulled out. I've taken two pregnancy tests and both came back negative and I haven't done anything since that time.

So what I'm asking is can starting birth control delay your period the first month? Has anyone had this experience?
