I have a boyfriend and every time he comes over my house , my mom will not let us go to my room . We have to stay in the family room where there is just no privacy . I just don't understand why he can't come into my room .. I agreed to keep the door open and everything..  She just has a huge problem with it. Does anyone have in suggestions on how to convince her to let me and my boyfriend hangout in my room ??

It depends on your age..  And I think it's great that your mom want let you and your boyfriend hang out in your room..  If y'all want a little space go out side.  But honestly the bedroom isn't the place for boyfriends and girlfriends to be hanging out. (depending on your age)

You're 17, not 21. Sorry to sound harsh but your parents are protecting you for a reason and you live under their roof so unfortunately sweetie it is their rules.

My parents don't let us in my room either. Maybe just talk it over with her and ask if there is somewhere else you two can be where there might be more privacy. My mom and dad have us in the family room and most of the time they will stay in there room when he is over unless we planned something as a family. Or we go outside and sit on the hammock or something. Where they can still technically see us but we have our own space.

I'm 17. Personally my family has a living room and then like a den type of room. My parents feel more comfortable with us in the living room and not the bedroom. It allows us privacy and them the sense of comfort. However at my boyfriend's house we have to be in the living room if his parents are home or if they are going to bed. I would say build a strong relationship between your parents and your boyfriend so they feel like they can trustbpth of you. It works wonders! My parents and boyfriend have a good relationship so they allow him to spend the night at our house or me at his, but we sleep in a different rooms. Even though they know we could sneak around after they go to bed: they trust us enough to know that we wouldn't.

Honestly I have the same issue! And my parents bedroom is right across from mine so if the door was open and we were in my room nothing inappropriate would be happening, but if my parents are upstairs in their room while I'm downstairs in the living room alone with him, a lot more would take place because we know we can get away with it because no one is watching. So a question for moms out there, why are yall so weird about boys being in our rooms if you are supervising us/even if the door is wide open?

It really depends on your age and how long you've been with him. My mom lets my boyfriend and I hang out in my study which is off the living room with the doors closed but we've been together for over 1 and 1/2 years. She trusts that we won't do anything bad. You just have to get your moms trust before you take it to the "next step" 😊

It depends on your age. Is your age appropriate for you two to be alone in your bedroom? Your mom is probably just concerned about your well being. There is lots of teen pregnancy and stuff like that she is really just making sure that you're safe. i am sure you are more than smart and responsible but momma's roof momma's rules. Maybe have a talk with her and let her know that sometimes you would like some privacy but don't take advantage of it if she does allow you to have that alone time.
